Stretching
techniques
You increase your odds of getting injured when lifting boxes if you are not properly stretched and warmed up. Follow some basic stretching techniques to make sure your body is flexible and warmed up.
Note: Always consult with a specialist before doing any moving, heavy lifting, stretching, or new exercise routine.
Start of by jogging in place for a few minutes or taking a short walk. Then find a comfortable area where you have enough room to stretch out.
The below is a basic guide to go by for stretching your full body:
Neck stretch
You can be standing or seated. Start by keeping your body straight. Then just turning your head look to the left side. Repeat to the right side. Next, face straight and then try to touch your left ear to your left shoulder.
After that do the right side. Repeat 2 - 3 times, holding for 5 seconds. .
Back stretch
Stand straight, slowly lower your body and try to touch your toes. Keep your legs straight and go down as for as can go. Try taking a deep breath and let out, this will help you stretch lower. Hold for a 10 count. Then, very slowly begin to lift
your self up. Repeat 2 - 3 times.
Arms and shoulders
Stand
with your back against an open door ( the door should be at the center of your back). Using both hands grab the door knob firmly and then proceed to lean forward. Hold of a 10 count. Very slowly return to starting position. Repeat 2 - 3 times.
Standing straight, lift your hand up straight into the air. Hold for a 5 count, repeat 2 - 3 times.
Leg
stretch
Start
by sitting on the floor. Spread your legs apart and lean forward trying to touch the floor with your torso. Hold for a 10 count. Then repeat with the left and right side. Do this 2- 3 times.
Standing
agents a wall for balance, lift your right foot backwards, hold it at your ankle with your hand for 15 seconds. Repeat this for the other foot. Do this 2- 3 times.
For
