Helpful Moving Tips:
Choosing the Right Packing Supplies

Think all you need to move are some empty boxes? Think again. Trying to pack without the right equipment can turn into a nightmare. Flimsy boxes can break, unsealed boxes can open and spill and unmarked boxes can turn into a headache when it’s time to unpack. To make the whole moving process much easier on everybody, here is a quick breakdown of the items you need to pack and move:

Extra thick cardboard boxes: Use them to pack fragile items, including china and crystal. Also good for packing electronics or appliances that can break during shifting or transporting.

Medium boxes: For packing appliances, kitchen items and even food. Also great for clothes, toys and general items that aren’t likely to suffer from rough handling.

Large boxes:
The larger the box, the lighter the items you should pack inside, so it will be easier to move it. If you have lots of pillows, blankets, large toys or lampshades, this is the perfect box size to pack it all.

Wardrobe boxes:
For items that are too delicate or you want to keep in top condition, with minimum wrinkling. Since wardrobes boxes come with a hanger bar, they can be used for coats and suits that you are planning on wearing shortly after moving.

Stretch wrap: Prevents scratches in hard surfaces, glass and screens. Can also be used to keep furniture together if you don’t want to separate drawers, doors, etc.

Bubble wrap: A must to protect delicate items, bubble wrap can also be used to prevent items from bumping into each other during transit or to protect piles items from scratching each other. In large boxes, bubble wrap can be used to fill any empty corners to prevent shifting of the items inside the box.

Blankets and pads: Great for wrapping items that are too big to bubble wrap, especially furniture, mirrors or paintings.
