Our extra large boxes will hold everything you think cannot be boxed! Lamps, small pieces of furniture, comforters and complete wardrobes. These boxes are made to hold large items, but not necessarily heavy pieces, so make sure you exercise common sense when choosing what to put inside the boxes. The extra large boxes are shipped flat inside a frame box, which can also be reused for packing.

Merging Households

If you’re moving homes to start a new life with a partner, you’ll soon find out that the transition can be quite difficult. Not only does it takes some adjusting to live with somebody new, but you also need to decide what you will do regarding your possessions and the moving process in general.

Once you’ve decided to merge households, your first step in making the arrangements is to jot down a to-do list that includes the following:

Decide what will happen with duplicate objects. If you both a microwave and a can opener, will you sell one, take both or give one away? What criteria will you use to choose which one to keep? You need to agree on this before both of you start packing things away, or you will end up with lots of boxes that you don’t actually need.

What style are you going for in the new home? This will help you decide which furniture to keep. If you both have the same style, choose based on size and format and take whatever will work better in the new home.

Talk to the moving company to see if it’s possible to combine both moves into one. For a small extra fee, some companies will agree to make a second stop and pick up boxes from the other person. This should be much cheaper than hiring two separate vans.

If you can’t find a local company willing to make an extra stop, considering selling the big stuff and starting off anew when you get to your new location. This can help you save a lot of money in the long run.
