Before packing and moving, make sure you have accounted for all hazardous and combustible substances. You must dispose of these properly; your moving company will neither pack or ship hazardous substances such as propane, bottled gases, lamp oils, solvents, paint, oils, bleach, motor fuel or aerosol cans. They represent a fire threat and also, should they spill they could eat through your cardboard boxes and into your stuff. Also banned from moving vehicles are guns and ammunition, so make separate considerations for these.
Ask your movers about any item in question before packing it into a moving box. Call the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to learn how to dispose of such items properly, should you choose to throw them away. You can ask the people moving into your house if they would like you to leave any of the stuff behind for their use.
Most of these products are fairly inexpensive. You don’t want to make a mess or a fire while moving into your new house. back
