The "How To" for packing certain moving items

How To Pack Large Appliances during moving

Before you start anything, find the user manuals for all of the appliances that you will be moving, and check for any necessary details that you may need to make to items before packing.

Moving supplies needed:

A. rope and large moving pads
B. Strong moving adhesive packaging Tape
C. Clothes, towels and linens for washing machine
D. Baking soda

Refrigerator packing

- make sure your refrigerator is empty and let it defrost for a day. It is not a wise idea to transport food with you. Most food will begin to grow harmful bacteria if not kept at required temperatures.

- Clean all the shelves, walls and drawers of the refrigerator. Disconnect and drain any automatic ice makers. Also make sure and empty the drainage pan underneath the refrigerator.

- Next, take all shelves, wrap them and tape them together. After that, tape down all inside drawers and any other loose parts. Make sure to tape doors shut on the outside, as well as tape the electrical cord to the back of the refrigerator.

- It is recommended to place a large moving pad around the refrigerator and tie it up.

Washing machine packing

- Make sure to do any laundry a few days before moving

- Make sure you drain all water out of washer. Take a towel and dry the interior.

- If there are any accessories take them out and place them into a plastic bag.

- Next, fill the basket with clothes, linens and a box of baking soda(the one were the box top stays on). Baking soda will help reduce any mildew.

-Lastly, tape the lid shut and tape the electrical wire to the back. Cover the outside with large moving pad.

Dryer packing

- Start by disconnecting the exhaust hose from the dryers back and then disconnect it from the exhaust duct in the wall.

- Roll the hose up and place inside the dryer basket.

- tape down the lint screen and dryer door. Tie up and tape electrical cord.

- on the outside of dryer place a large moving pad (blanket) and tie securely.
