Tips for packing your moving boxes
Q. How heavy should I pack my moving boxes? I am self moving.

A. As long as you could lift the moving box up comfortably without too much strain then you have not over packed it. Generally, when using cardboard boxes larger than the medium size you should only be packing large and light items in them. To ensure a smooth move, weather you are doing it yourself or you have hired a mover to do it for you, you should try to stick to mostly to small moving boxes and some medium cardboard boxes when packing all of your belongings. When packing the medium moving boxes try to put in your lighter items because you do not want the box to break and your things to fall through and the most crucial point in the move. If you need to pack heavy items, stick to the smaller moving boxes and do NOT over pack! You are better off having more cardboard boxes and less of them over packed; it will certainly save you a lot of heartache, time and money to stick with the smaller moving boxes. With bubble wrap and moving paper you can easily accomplish all this while keeping your items packed well to keep them from damaging the other items packed in together with each other.
Helpful note when packing moving boxes:
Do NOT use newspaper when packing dishes and pots. It is worth the little bit of money to buy a roll of plain white moving paper and believe me it will save you tons of time in your move!! (Learn from me, I made the mistake of using newspaper to pack up some of my dishes and it was not a fun experience when unpacking to find all my dishes filthy with ink that was difficult to remove).
