Packing LP Records in cardboard boxes Cardboard Boxes
Leave extra space for moving supplies.

A. When packing LP records that are 12 x 12 inches in size, there are two options in the size cardboard boxes that you can use. Our medium and large cardboard boxes both offer strong protection.

Medium Cardboard Boxes: Option 1
First, our medium size cardboard boxes fit LP records just right.  They are 18” inches long, 15” wide and 12” high.  If using the medium size cardboard boxes place some bubble wrap or crumbled up packing paper on the inside of the box. This will fill up any empty space in the box and prevent your LP records from shifting around during moving.

Large Cardboard Boxes: Option 2
Our large cardboard boxes are 24” inches long, 16” wide and 17” high. These measurements offer you more space to better protect your LP’s. Start by placing a layer or two of bubble wrap on the bottom inside of the large box. Next place your LP records in.  Then place a layer of bubble wrap across the inner right and left sides of the cardboard box (use tape to hold bubble wrap in place). After that, place crumbled up packing paper or bubble wrap on top of the LP records and tape the box shut. This will help cushion your LP records during moving

My Opinion:
When I moved last summer I used both the medium and large moving boxes to pack up my LP records. I used the large boxes to pack up my prized vintage collection, making sure to use extra packing supplies (bubble wrap) to ensure their safety. Also, I used the medium boxes for packing up my regular collection. The choice is yours.

Which way to Pack LP Records in boxes:
Place your LP’s with the packaging sleeve (record case) opening facing the top of the box. This will keep your LP records from slipping out of the sleeve when its unpacking time. Also, label the side of your cardboard boxes with an upward arrow stating this side up.

*Important Note: Please check the current measurements of our moving boxes on DirectMovingBoxes.com to make sure which cardboard box size will be right for packing your LP Records.
