Packing tip for making custom cardboard boxes
Q. I am looking for a box to ship a medium sized piece of exercise equipment. The dimensions are 36x24x8. I cannot find a box that it will fit it! All the cardboard boxes I have found are not long enough. Do you have anything that this would fit it? Thanks for you help.

A. To get the exact dimensions for a box like that, you would have to use the original cardboard box that your item came packed in. If you don’t have the original box then don’t worry, we can help you make a custom shaped box in a jiffy.

Preparing your Frame Boxes:(diagram 1 & 2)
Moving supplies needed, two frame boxes, box cutter, bubble wrap, packing tape and tape gun.
1) Using a box cutter, cut one side from each frame box completely off. (view diagram 1)
2) Cover your item in a packing supply such as bubble wrap.
3) Place your wrapped item inside frame box 1. (view diagram 2)
4) Cover it with frame box 2
5) Using packing tape seal both frame boxes together tightly. A tape gun will make the taping job faster and easier.

Remember: Having an extra one or two frame boxes handy will be helpful just in case you make a cutting mistake. Also, if you have similar sized boxes in your home that you are not using, you can use the same concept mentioned above to create your own custom cardboard boxes for shipping.
IMPORTANT Packing Tip 1: Use crumpled newspaper or ink less packing paper to fill up any empty space in the box so your item will not shift around during shipping.
IMPORTANT Packing Tip 2: Before shipping your package, use a dark marker and label your box with "fragile" and an arrow pointing this side up.
