Taping up Moving Boxes

Before you put anything in to your moving boxes, you wont to be sure to tape the bottom of the box shut. A lot of people simply fold the bottom of the box flaps over each other. This will cause the box to collapse when lifted with your items in it.

The letter "H" taping technique (used by moving companies)

First start buy folding the smaller flaps in followed by the larger box flaps. Then turn the box upside down and begin taping. Make sure you are using professional tape, do Not use regular scotch tape, it is not strong enough. It is called the letter "H" taping technique, because when done correctly it will look like a capital letter "H". Begin taping the box down the middle of the flaps, going all the way down the box length. Next, tape the edges of the box going across the whole length of the box were the flaps were closed. When doing this make sure that half the tape is going across the top part of the box and the other half is going across the side. When complete it should resemble the letter "H".

When you finish packing the content into the boxes, use the same technique that you used to seal the bottom on the top. This will provide secure holding of the content that was placed in the boxes. Lastly, remember it is always better to use extra tape when the packing heaver items.
