Moving companies are required to inspect each and every cardboard box to make sure they are fit for transit. This is done to ensure the safety of your items. Beforehand you should show the mover all moving boxes that you packed up yourself, more importantly if they are valuable or breakable. The moving company will give you advice as to if the cardboard boxes have to be repacked into stronger more appropriate moving boxes. They have the right to turn down any moving boxes that they deem wrongly packed. At that point any wrongly packed cardboard boxes have to be repacked by you or the moving company. All moving services of repacking boxes will be of additional costs. It is wise to ask the mover if they have used moving boxes, as to some of them will give theseto you for free. Professional moving providers use only appropriate reinforced and sturdy cardboard boxes. Sometime you can find free boxes from your local supermarket but they will not be as padded and strong as regular moving boxes. This means that during transit your valuables are more inclined to get damaged. Remember that moving companies are not responsible for items in boxes that they did not pack up for your move.
