Loading and Unloading moving boxes into truck

As much stress as you have endured packing your cardboard boxes for the move, you still have to pack and unpack the moving truck. This can be just as tough on the nerves, so come with a battle plan.

Loading your moving truck efficiently is a matter of method and arrangement. Just keep in mind, the more orderly your packing boxes are when you put them in the trucks, the greater ease you will have removing them.

Here are some excellent loading tips for your moving experience-

• Heavies go first. This gives your truck balance for the drive, you don’t want to end up in a gully. If you forget to do this, then drive slower. Also, if you put the heavy packing boxes in first it ensures you can place lighter packing boxes on top, enhancing convenience.

• Be sure to rent a truck that is the right fit for your packing boxes and moving supplies.

• Do a quarter of the truck at a time. Pack your moving boxes and supplies as tightly as possible from top to bottom. Tie each quarter with rope using the rings that are on the walls and ceilings of the moving truck.

• Big furniture goes in the front of the van near the driver’s area. Then load packing boxes and lastly lighter furniture toward the back of the van.

• Standing large items like mattresses and mirrors against the wall is helpful. Tie them down.

• Use the appropriate protective cushioning and moving supplies. Pictures and mirrors should be suited with a layer of bubble-wrap or moving pads. Or purchase cardboard frame boxes.

 • Just like in the supermarket. Light goes on top of heavy. You don’t want to crush lighter moving boxes underneath the weight of heavier ones.

• Your most valuable stuff, like paper work, keys, directions and other vitals should be kept with you in a backpack. Also if there is anything you will need right away when you arrive at the new house, pack it in the rear of the moving truck so it is there for you.

Have a good move!
