Bubble Wrap - Moving Supplies

General packing information for using bubble wrap as one of your main moving supplies.

Bubble wrap is a great moving supply. It will cover and cushion each item that is wrapped in, with plastic air bubbles. Although, if you are using your bubble wrap incorrectly; you will not do much to protect your personal items. You really have to take the size and weight of on object into consideration.

Packing Example 1: Large stereo speakers

This object is large and heavy in weight. Wrapping it with bubble wrap only once will not give it total protection if some of the bubbles should pop. Generally, wrapping such an item 3-5 times with bubble wrap should offer maximum protection.
Quick tip: Remember to place close attention and put the majority of the bubble wrap along the top and bottom corners of the object. This is wear most of the weight resides.

Packing Example 2: Coffee maker

This object is small in size and light in weight. Most coffee makers have multiple parts (2 or more). When using bubble wrap, be sure and cover each item separately. In this case using only one piece of bubble wrap per part should be good, but for maximum protection use at least 2.

Quick tip: Make sure you place items correctly into cardboard moving boxes using bubble wrap on the inside of the box. Also, using packaging paper is recommended to fill up any empty space in your boxes. top of page
