The sound of Cardboard boxes

Being a music lover I often find myself listening to all types and styles.  Some of the most interesting sounds I have ever heard have been on the streets of New York City by some individual banging drum sticks on empty plastic containers and cardboard boxes.  Music in general does express feelings and emotions I believe, so when I ran across a band called “Cardboard Boxes” the name drew my attention right away.  It made me wonder what kind of music they played and if they used cardboard boxes in any way. 

Well I visited their web site at http://cardboardboxes.tripod.com/index.htm and tried to pick up some clues.  I tried down loading some of Cardboard Boxes songs but since I am using a Macintosh I was unsuccessful in getting them to work on my computer.  On Cardboard Boxes “about us” section of the site it says that they are a rock band and they have a photo of a band mate standing next to two large green dumpsters.  I don’t get the point, if they are called Cardboard Boxes why was the band mate not standing next to a bundle of boxes or maybe even wearing a box.  I e-mailed the band and told them that DirectMovingBoxes.com could supply them with some bundles of cardboard boxes if they wonted to use them in some pictures with the band, but I have not heard back from them yet.  Maybe they should wear cardboard boxes as costumes or have a bunch of different sized boxes on stage when they play.  That’s just my opinion since they are called Cardboard boxes.

The Cardboard Boxes web site needs some work, but they do have some cool art pictures that look like they are probably the flyers for their events.  Also they have some pictures of the Cardboard Boxes band members from an actual show but they are blurry and to large.  They seem to do lots of events in Chicago, IL and Madison, WI but there show calendar needs some updating.
